Eligibility for Modern Apprentice:
• The recruitment of Modern Apprentices is a fair, open and merit based process (16+) and with permanence from the start of the apprenticeship.
• Previous Modern Apprentices in the Scottish Government are not eligible to apply.
• Throughout the first 12 months the successful candidate will be expected to gain a relevant SVQ qualification.
• Support will be provided by an internal assessor who will work with the candidate on a monthly basis. Time will be given to work on your qualification, this includes presenting 2 presentations.

Responsibilities

• Providing a courteous image to all staff & visitors, being the first point of contact within the organisation, projecting a professional and customer focussed image.
• Reception duties, signing in external visitors, supplying temporary passes to TS/SG staff.
• Creating photographic security passes and ensuring that the security database is updated, suspending and deleting passes & providing organisational and administrative support.
• Mailroom duties, delivering mail, arranging couriers, special delivery and recorded delivery, franking, preparing mail for internal van collections, laminating and printing, change printer toners.
• Order Stationary and office supplies items through Scottish Government system.
• Facilities Ad hoc duties as required.

Essential Criteria

3. Good organisational and planning skills.
4. Work efficiently as part of a team.

 

Minimum Time in Post
You will be expected to remain in post for a minimum of three years unless successful at gaining promotion to a higher Band or Grade. 


In the event that further posts are required, a reserve list of successful candidates will be kept for up to 12 months. 

Location
This post is a full time role and based in George House, Glasgow. The role will require you to be office based 5 days per week, Monday to Friday.
